This afternoon I ran an easy 3 miles with a few strides. I’m hoping to feel nice and loose for my long run tomorrow. I’m also hoping that all the snow on the ground will magically disappear, but that doesn’t seem too likely.
I watched the Wannamaker Mile today; Bernard Lagat is amazing!

Take a look at this:

I thought it was pretty hilarious. I couldn’t figure out if someone actually made it, or if it was computer-generated.

Wow. New features… tons of new members… and a snappy new look… I like this new site. Congratulations to the konamoxt team!
One question- did some of the sidebar widgets go away, or is that just my imagination?

Yessss! Finally.
I almost can’t believe I’m writing this, but… I’ve got my Tri-bike. After searching/researching/riding for quite a while, and deciding I would probably end up waiting ’til spring, I was surprised to see the very bike I was looking for plop down on Ebay- brand new and in my size and color- twice. I watched them both, and took a stab at bidding on the first one. I was outbid by someone who apparently wanted it more than I did. The next day, I nailed down my price limit, and, feeling a bit nervous placed a bid. In the end, I went up to my limit- and came away with a bike I would have had to pay $500-$1000 more for at any other time.
I can’t wait to start riding it… on a trainer for most of the next 4 months.
So, the bike:
2007 Black Kuota K-Factor
Frame- K-Factor (carbon)
Fork- Kuota Aero (carbon)
Seat post- XLAB ‘wing’ (carbon
Crank- Shimano 105
Front deraileur- Shimano 105
Casette- Shimano 105 10spd
Rear deraileur- Shimano Dura-Ace
Calipers- Shimano 5600
Levers- Profile Design QS52
Base bar- Profile AirWing
Aero-bar- Profile T2+
Bar-end shifters- Shimano Dura-Ace
All I’ve got for pics right now are some not-so-great ones from the seller (a good ebayer, but not a great photographer). I’ll take some better ones once I’ve got the bike.

So, I got a new watch today. It came with a display case, which was unanimously declared rediculous (”We should place it in the east, and bow down to worship it every morning.”), so I got a little carried away and created the above image. I apologize for the sloppy editing.
As for the actual watch, I like it. It’s very cool, with a bunch of useful features that I look forward to making good use of on my next run.
Also, I hope I don’t offend anyone of religious inclination with the above picture and quote. They were intended to be humorous.
As a side note, the shrine in the picture is actually very cool (when it doesn’t have a 6-foot tall watch in the middle of it), and I’ve been trying to find out where it is.

I’ve been noticing something curious recently during hard intervals now that I’m using my “new” heart rate monitor (actually, it was given to me used. I’ll take what I can get, while I save for a new bike).
My HR does not get very high! Even while working very hard, I haven’t seen it above 180 or so! This is surprising to me, for some reason, and is on the extreme low end of the range for my age.
My resting HR is also quite low. Hmmm. I need to gather some more data.
